High-quality research

Research is conducted by 20 motivated senior students from the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen. Their diverse backgrounds in business and finance create strong, multidisciplinary insights. Typical research topics include market entry strategies, distributor analysis and competition analysis. The students are guided by two professors with decades of academic and corporate experience and supported by an Advisory Board of seasoned professionals, ensuring high quality throughout the project.

Independent, tailor-made expertise

IFP delivers professional, tailor-made research based on the students’ specialised knowledge in business and finance. Because the students are not affiliated with any company, the research is fully independent and objective, and all findings are treated confidentially. As the programme is not profit-driven, companies only cover the costs of training and conducting the research, making it a cost-efficient way to gain valuable insights.

Research process

The programme consists of two phases. First, the students spend four months in the Netherlands conducting desk research. They then travel to Malaysia for two and a half weeks of field research, where they interview industry experts, competitors, distributors, and relevant organisations, supported by quantitative analysis. The findings from both phases are combined into a comprehensive report and presented directly to your organisation, offering practical recommendations to support your international expansion.
